We’ll help you choose your words… carefully.
Talking to your audience in words they recognise is one thing. Talking to them in their language is another.
Grasping the complexity of meaning and emotional impact required to reach your audience and deliver your message is the essence of good translation.
Of course, for any translation, you need to know which words work (in both languages), but translation that actually resonates with your audience demands more than simply putting the correct words in the correct order. It requires an understanding and appreciation of the quirks and nuances of the native tongue.
Through flawless and meaningful translation, we can help you cross cultures to reach your market. We will work with you to make sure you’re striking the right balance between style, tone and clarity so that your message actually means something to the people you’re talking to.
You may already have your English document written and ready to go, but would like another pair of eyes to check it over and make sure that the words work and the message is clear.
We are happy to read through your document and revise, tweak and edit to ensure it has as much impact on your audience as possible. We’ll add that extra sparkle so you get flawless text that flows.
In today’s global market good communication is the key to doing good business. Your customers need to trust what you say, so getting your message across clearly and succinctly is the key to success. With over 10 years’ experience in a British and international business environment, my business translation spans a range of sectors and communications. Whatever the medium, from marketing materials and reports to letters and presentations, I ensure you persuade your audience in print.
International relations and development
Translation plays a vital role in cross-cultural communication. It’s about understanding not only the language but also the people and what makes them tick. My extensive work in international relations and development includes working with large international businesses such as Royal Mail International. The focus here was to build up postal operators in developing countries so they could compete and thrive. To succeed in that sort of environment you need to speak to your audience in a way that’s not only in the right language but that speaks their language. My translation helps break down barriers and connect across cultures.
Tourism and travel
Translation that travels well needs to be accurate, culturally sensitive and above all trustworthy. We’ve all seen funny mistakes on menus and in hotels but when booking or making a reservation people want to know they’re making the right choice. Business traveller or tourist, their journey starts on the page. They are experiencing the trip through your words, to feel what it will be like to be there. My experience ranges from travel websites and resorts to hotels and tour operators. Whatever the destination, I provide translation that takes you where you want to go.
Arts and culture
While culture and the arts often transcend language, translation provides a context that can enrich the experience and help make a work of art or performance more accessible. My work in arts and cultural translation is used by some of the most prestigious museums in the world. Whether you want to bring a painting to life, promote an exhibition or evoke an emotion, I provide translation that educates and excites at the same time.
Complementary or alternative therapies are a gentle form of treatment used to treat a range of conditions and boost health and well-being. Many people rely on them as a safe and effective complement or alternative to more traditional forms of care.
I am a qualified reflexologist and am attuned to Reiki Level 2. I also have experience of other complementary therapies, including acupuncture, homeopathy and kinesiology.
I understand the need for precision in this complicated area and will ensure that your texts reflect the care and attention you put into them.
This is an exciting time for postal services around the world. Centuries-old monopolies are being eroded and the arrival of competitors and alternative forms of communication is resulting in profound changes.
I have 11 years’ experience of the international postal environment, having worked with the British postal service, the European, Caribbean and international postal unions and the European Union, so I am in an ideal position to understand the issues and challenges currently facing postal operators.
Our service to you will be as smooth and fluent as the service you provide for your customers.
Without translation, I would be limited to the borders of my own country. The translator is my most important ally. He introduces me to the world.
